The focus is the electrical scope that drives cost and risk on rail and transit work: overhead catenary systems, traction power, 138 kV interfaces, substations, signaling, and instrumentation and controls. Every estimate, analysis, and recommendation is grounded in technical depth and real-world constructability.

Nearly five decades in rail transportation systems: train control, communications, OCS, and traction power. A career that began as a signalman on the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad in 1975 and runs through Mass Electric, Balfour Beatty Rail, and Modern Railway Systems, with recent senior estimating on the CTA Red Line Extension ($3.6B), Brightline Zone 3 ($2.7B), and the Caltrain High Speed Electrification ($800M). Deliverables tie scope to quantities, labor, indirects, and risk. Forensic review focuses on the places where packages usually drift: allowances, double-counts, re-based contingencies, and disconnected staffing logic. Quantities check back to source drawings. Variance reports tie to drawing, specification, or package references. Every claim is built to survive the read.
Behind the work sits custom software built in-house: computer-vision-assisted takeoff, a Primavera XER schedule-analysis engine, Bluebeam markup automation, and document pipelines. The tools support live production and can be demonstrated on a call.
